You can hide your affiliate link behind text and images. This is a very good way to avoid detection. This method works well in emails and articles on a blog and even comments. We use this method almost everywhere.
I personally have not used this feature as it makes the link even longer, but some of our affiliates use it to check which location provides the best results. If you place links on Facebook for example and cloak your links you can check how many people react to your link from Facebook or Google or an article on your blog.This can be very helpful to see how often the link is clicked and how many people actually sign up.
